Pour the mix into a bowl and break down any clumps. Add 1/2 cup of your choice of milk and 1/3 cup canola oil. Stir until well combined. In a greased pan*, lay one sliced pear or apple. Slowly and evenly pour the cake batter over the fruit slices. Bake at 350°F for 20-30 minutes depending of the depth on your pan. Once cooled enough to handle, flip over a cutting board.
